ŠILO

Šilo is a small tourist town on the northeast coast of the island Krk. A popular family destination, it offers many beautiful concrete and pebble beaches. In Šilo, you can find the Pećine beach, a sandy Blue Flag beach, as well as a dog beach, while the beach at the nearby Soline Bay offers access to natural healing mud.

Apart from ample swimming and sunbathing opportunities, Šilo offers an abundance of sport activities ranging from tennis, beach volleyball, and biking, to trekking and water sports. A sunken Greek ship, Peltastis, located off the coast of Šilo, makes scuba-diving especially interesting. During the evenings, you can enjoy seaside promenades and try out local specialties like Vrbnička Žlahtina, the well-known wine indigenous to Krk, in the many bars and restaurants. Šilo’s central area often hosts fisherman’s feasts and other fun cultural events, most notably the St. Rok Holiday party on August 16.
